Mathemagical Tricks

In this post I decided to change things up a little and right some cool new magic tricks that will surprise your friends!

1,089 Trick

Ask a friend to think of a three digit number as long as the last and first digits differ by two or more. Tell your friend to reverse and subtract the smaller one from the bigger one. Then reverse the answer and add them together. No matter what the final answer is 1,089 !

The Two Trick

Ask friend to think of a number (any number with x amount of digits works). Tell them to multiply the number by 2. Then tell them to add 10. Tell them to divide your number by two, and subtract the original number. The answer should be 5!

The Operation Trick

Ask a friend to think of a positive integer. Tell them to square the number, and then add the square of the number with the original number. Divide it by the original number. Add 17. Subtract the original number. Divide it by six. The answer should be 3.

The Three Trick

Ask a friend to think of a number. Tell them to add 5. Multiply the result by 2. Subtract four. Divide the result by 2. Subtract the original number. The answer is guaranteed to be 3.

The Four Factors Trick

Ask a friend to think of a number. Tell them to multiply the number by two. Add 12. Subtract 4. Divide the result by 2. Finally subtract the original number from the result.

Their answer will be four.
